However, things improved romantically in the 6th episode when Airi wanted to spend time with Yuda even though Sage forbid Airi to see Yuda because she didn't like the idea of her cousin being around or being a mermaid.
Airi and Yuda's friendship got to the point where they were now happy to be around each other and she even gave him a mermaid's kiss, but it didn't give them any romance. Yuda told Airi why he disliked being a mermaid and told her about his past: he was originally a human and was turned into a mermaid by Serena. Airi and Yuda's friendship improved and they actually became friends. However, things improved between Yuda and Airi in the 5th episode when she invited him to hang out with her, Serena and Maiomi. However, they didn't officially meet until the 4 episode, but things did not go so well when he was upset Airi had willingly turned herself into a mermaid and they aren't always the kindest creatures.
Yuda was first introduced in episode 3 of Island Living and Airi was interested in him as a friend because he was the first merman she had met. He is Airi's husband and is part of the Island Living series. Yuda is a merman that was once a fisherman before he transformed into a merman.
